In Greek, Roman and Neoclassical architecture, a design system that governs every aspect of a building’s plan, elevation and decoration. Specific orders, such as the Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, Tuscan and Composite, can be recognized by the proportions of columns and the decorative details of capitals and entablatures.
